I decided to start collecting some of the funny quotes I find while dragging myself through some of the Motion tutorials. I really do need to learn this program…but I’m wishing there were an easier way. Like in the Matrix, where Neo has abilities downloaded to his brain! THAT would be awesome.

Today is Andalusia Day here in Spain - and we’re celebrating with a party at MMC! I’m so excited about eating barbecue! We brought hamburgers and chorizo - the best Spanish meat, in our opinion.

• We are studying for the written part of the Spanish driver’s license exam. Pray that we can complete the written test successfully, despite some of the changes and problems encountered by other missionaries in our situation. Pray that God would bless us with honest and helpful driving instructors.
• I recently applied for a renewal of my passport, through a US consulate here in Spain. The consulate sent my paperwork and passport to another consulate in Madrid, who will process everything and send a new passport back. Please pray that there are no problems with this and that the package with my passport would be delivered safely, and SOON, so that I can also start on the process of renewing my Spanish residence card.
• That we would be diligent in learning and studying Spanish, and that Tim would feel more comfortable using a foreign language.
• We are preparing to move to another property, owned by MMC. Pray that God would work out the details involved in repairing and preparing a home.

I admit that I haven’t been very “weekly” about these updates recently - I do apologize!

Last week’s update can be summarized by saying: I was sick most of the time, and either sleeping or working from home! By the weekend, Tim had caught the same thing I had and is just now back at work.

• The Communicate (MMC twice-yearly publication) has been printed and mailed! Praise God it’s finally done! Now to start working on the next Communicate…
• I’ve continued my editing of the Arabic series Back to the Time of Jesus - while I was working from home last week, I had my external hard drives, laptop, and headphones set up as my own little editing suite in the living room. (With a needy kitten trying to help at times!) Thursday night, while I was unable to sleep, I had an epiphany and got up to draw storyboards for an intro sequence to the series! Before each program, there has to be an intro, identifying the program. Until that night I hadn’t had any good ideas for it, but maybe being sick did give me an advantage of inspiration. This week, I decided to get past at least half of the audio editing, to give myself an excuse to work on something more creative (the intro). By yesterday, I had worked my way through the first seven episodes, fixing any audio problems that I could hear, and adjusting audio levels. Such tedious effort goes into making a program sound right!
