I’m watching “Mira Quien Baila!” - a dancing show where contestants learn and perform different styles of dance. (I generally hate contestant/vote for this person/elimination shows, but this one is really fun to watch.)

I loved it when one of the judges told the guy who’d just finished dancing, “Eres un CRACK, tio!” Perfect example of some of the great Spanish slang I’ve learned…

“Eres un CRACK, tio!” = “You’re really great, man!”

The past few weeks have been crazy - all sorts of stuff to get done before TOMORROW.

This translates to not a lot of sleeping or eating; some feeling sick, tired and emotional; projects done and re-done; and now, finally, completion! Does that mean I can take a break? Of course not!… tomorrow I’m heading off around 9 am to the AIRPORT.

I will get on a plane, fly to my destination, and work pretty much constantly for another week. Such is life. Maybe when I’m back it will calm down? Not likely. Forgot to mention that I’ll be MOVING. Again.

Time to go pack now. Oh, but it’s only 10pm? I can’t say this is the earliest I’ve gone home all week, but its pretty close! Have a good week - No updates until I get back, so enjoy the break.

• Arabic Bible readings: The first fifteen are ready to go to tape!! I compressed them in iPod format last night so I could share them over iTunes to get approval. Some mistakes were caught, and now they’ve been compressed again, and if everything is fine, tomorrow they can be put down to tape. We will then be giving this tape off to the broadcasting station that is eager to use them as “filler” or “break” material to put in and between existing programs. These short less-than-a-minute to two-minute videos each cover one passage of scripture from the book of Luke, and will be a welcome addition to the programming already on air.
• “People Who Met Jesus” DVD Project: The DVD was burned last night as well, and given over for approval; although as of now it is certainly good enough as a “preview” version of what will be the final DVD. Everything works, all video and buttons; if anything else is to be changed, it would be something I haven’t caught yet!

The time has come to burn a DVD of my latest Arabic DVD project - but there’s not a blank DVD to be found! Neither in the Video Studio equipment cabinets, nor in Beth’s office (MMC Publications), and attempts to run to the video rental store down the street were equally unsuccessful (they do sell DVDs, but the brand they sell doesn’t always work for us).

My little dilemma this afternoon has at the least, drawn attention to this question (How can we be a media center, without writable media?!) and has resulted in Rolly calling in a nice good order of DVDs to be delivered here in the next few days. Until then, I suppose I’ll have to resort to buying the only DVD to be found - the last in Rolly’s personal supply - so that I can finally test my project before the deadline.
