I don’t deserve this.
Monday, February 13th, 2006Talk about a fast answer to prayer. As you can see on the previous post, several people told me on Wednesday that I need to take a guitar to Spain. Thursday, I looked on craigslist.com and found a few possible guitars that fit in my price range. Then I also found this. I responded to the listing, and Saturday went with Kenny and Sarah (and Tim) to check it out. I got this (list price of) $669.00 Martin guitar for $400.00 cash, with a nice case and a humidifier. (A case alone is about $100)
If you don’t know much about guitars, Martins are pretty good. Although this is a low-end model (669 is “low end”?! I know, thats what I thought! Check out some of these for comparison.) it has great sound. They say it sounds nicer than Kenny’s $1000 guitar. I am so not worthy to be playing this!!!
Even better, it is an “already worshiped in” guitar - the guy I bought it from said he plays in the church choir. When we were leaving his house, Kenny and Sarah told me that even they had been thinking how I would need to bring a guitar with me. I wondered, why would God tell everyone else that I need a guitar and not tell me? Then Tim, seeing the obvious, said, “well maybe God just told everyone else so that they could tell you!” Either way, I just can’t believe how everything happened - it was so fast… and I have a Martin!! God must really love me. Wow. Kenny says I’ll be writing lots of songs with it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

UPDATE: (yes, already!!)
I didn’t mention it before, but of the $400 cash I used to pay for the guitar, half was from my bank account and half from Tim’s. (I think you can only withdraw $200 a day from an ATM per account). I was talking to Tim on the phone just now (12:15 pm) and asked if I could wait and pay him back in a few weeks because of some other expenses I am expecting soon. He said, “you know what, don’t worry about paying me back” - he wants me to consider that money as a donation. I know he is my boyfriend…but I really am serious about paying people back when I borrow money, especially for something big. The only way I would agree to not pay him back is if God told him not to accept it. Which is exactly what happened.
Again, referencing the previous post from Thursday about my guitar, remember when I said I didn’t want to spend more than $200 on a guitar? Well…God made it so I didnt need to. IT BLOWS ME AWAY!!!
