Waiting for Baby
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009On the baby’s “due date” we decided we had waited long enough to take maternity photos. Although “due dates” are assigned by the inexact science of pregnancy, knowing we’d reached the 40-week mark made it even more real that the baby could come “at any time” and we might not have another chance to photograph us while it’s still inside.
Since we’d neglected to arrange for a photographer to help, and it was kind of a spur of the moment thing anyway, we went ahead and had a little photo shoot by ourselves in our backyard with my Nikon D70. I am much more comfortable being behind the camera than in front of it, but Tim did a great job with the photography, and thanks to our new tripod we even have a few shots of the two of us together. After the baby is born we do want to get someone to help us take family photos, though. It would be much easier than using the tripod, especially without a remote.
So in the meantime, we’re still here, waiting on our little one to make its appearance, and enjoying the last few hours/days/weeks together as just the two of us. All I know is, this baby better come before Thanksgiving!
