• During the past two weeks we’ve been blessed with the help of Jenny, a volunteer. She has been working with other organizations around Spain, and we were privileged to have her volunteer her time to help out on some video projects here as well.
• Jenny’s help has been greatly noted in the new “stock video project” we’ve begun. It’s a huge task to weed through the many tapes of footage in the control room and decide which clips are usable, let alone categorize them in a database like we’re doing! Tim’s been having a lot of fun programming a database to house all of this information (and eventually, compressed preview videos) for when our side of the project is complete. He’s hoping to make a searchable database versatile enough to contain both stock photos and stock videos. You can imagine how useful a resource like this will be to our work here! By typing in a search word, photos and/or video related to that word will be shown, and easily accessed across the local network.
• The Communicate is nearly finished! I can’t believe we’re already this close to going to print with it. Our deadline isn’t even until next Friday!

• The new server is up and running! Tim and his IT accomplice-in-crime both worked long hours over the weekend to install the new server. Over the week they’ve been “working out the kinks” in the system and it seems to be working well. Since changing over the server, they’ve begun installing the new network phone system, and will be working it in slowly. At the moment they have two of the IP phones hooked up in their office, and have been testing them and configuring settings on the phone system, preparing for when the rest of the phones are distributed.
• Tim is also working with Eber on the website for the Ahora Que discipleship project, and has come up with some good ideas of how to put the site together. Pray for continued ideas and insight, as well as good communication among those working on the project.
• Earlier this week I finished capturing the tapes of the Back to the Time of Jesus Arabic TV series. I can now begin the process of editing the footage together into individual programs.
• I’ve started putting together a video for Gayle, our director Dan’s wife, who has been asked by one of their supporting churches for a video about what she does here at MMC. Over the past few week’s I’ve accompanied her to videotape some of the regular things she does during the day, and have now captured the footage and begun the editing process.
• Today I put the final touches on our most recent prayer letter! I’m so happy it’s (finally) finished! At first we had some trouble knowing what to write, but once we did write something I then had trouble getting it all to fit! I plan to send it out by email next week, so if you would like to receive it but aren’t on my mailing list, let me know.

That’s all for now… Tim and I have to go downtown tonight to put some much-needed saldo (credit) on our phone before it decides to expire from lack of attention! Have a good weekend.

Ok so where were we? If you want to know how the conference and other things turned out over the past few weeks, you should read the previous post where I give some information about that. Now, onto the details of work..

• The Communicate is still not quite finished… I’m waiting on that one last article before I can get the final approval and start working on getting it printed. The rest of it is finished and looking good! It’s really great to be able to work on a print project for once; I had forgotten how much I enjoy editing type!
• The new Arabic video project I mentioned last time is going well - I finished editing the first music video, and just have to put in the titles (text that gets overlaid onto the video) before it will be completely finished.
• The new server hardware arrived earlier this week, and Tim reports that it is well on its way to being ready for use! He also got a phone to test with the new phone system, and he says that it is practically ready as well. He gets very excited working on this sort of thing.. figuring out a new system and programming the hardware. There have been a few times that I’ve had to pull him away from his work and convince him to eat! It’s encouraging to see so many eminent changes and advances in the network and phone system.

There is a great new video about the ¿Ahora Qué? project available, on the project website at www.ahoraq.com.

¿Ahora Qué?, or What Now?, is a multimedia discipleship program for Spanish youth, involving a booklet (designed by the team of JBU students who came this summer), videos to go along with each lesson, and an interactive website (still in the works).

As described on the current website, the project contains:

• A booklet with 7 lesssons
• A DVD to accompany the booklet, with seven entertaining videos, presenting the same concepts.
• A web page to facilitate direct contact with new believers, answer questions, give spiritual help, and help them find a group of young people.

Watch the video, and see for yourself what the project is all about! It may take a while to load, but it’s worth the wait.
